In Chhattisgarh, thirty-three Maoists surrendered yesterday in Sukma district. A total reward of Rs. 49 lakh was announced on these Maoists. Of the Naxalites who have surrendered 11 Naxalites were active in the Gram Panchayat Badesetti in Sukma district. With the surrender of these Naxalites, Badesetti has been officially declared as the first Naxal-free gram panchayat of Bastar division.
These Maoists surrendered before the senior officers of Police and CRPF.
All these Maoists have been given an incentive amount
of fifty thousand rupees each under the rehabilitation policy of the state government. Apart from this, other facilities will also be provided to them.
In a social media post, Mr. Shah said, 33 Naxalites have surrendered in the Sukma district. He said, 11 Naxalites surrendered in Badesetti Panchayat of Sukma, making the Panchayat completely Naxal-free. Mr Shah congratulated the security force personnel and the Chhattisgarh Police for this success in the Naxal-free India campaign.
