In Uttar Pradesh, 34 samples have been sent for examination for the confirmation of symptoms of coronavirus COVID-19. Health Minister of state Jai Pratap Singh said that samples of 6 persons in Agra were found positive when tested in the lab of King George Medical University but as per the guidelines of Government of India, all samples were sent to Pune for the second round of testing. The 34 samples sent for the second round of testing are from Agra, Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandashahar districts.
He said that all highly suspected six persons from Agra have been shifted
to Safdarjung hospital in Delhi and their other family members had been advised to "quarantine" themselves at their home and their throat swabs were taken for testing.
Meanwhile, Hotels and tourist sites in Agra have been instructed to inform the office of the Chief Medical Officer as soon as visitors from Italy, Iran or China arrive so that they can be screened for coronavirus infection. Chief Medical Officer of Agra Dr Mukesh Vats said that there are proper arrangements in place in the city to deal with the virus.
