354 maoists surrender in Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh, as many as 354 Maoists and their supporters surrendered in tribal Bastar region yesterday. It is one of the biggest surrender in the history of the state.

Those who surrendered include 57 rebels and 297 supporters. According to police, these Maoists also surrendered 17



weapons. 26 of the surrendered Maoists were carrying rewards on their head. 

These Maoists were involved in several incidents. Bastar IG said that surrendered Maoists will be provided necessary assistance as per the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state government.
