Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Minister Prakash Javadekar has said that a total of 386 electric charging stations have been installed in 13 States and Union Territories. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, Mr. Javadekar informed that a maximum of 94 charging stations have been installed in Delhi followed by 49 in Rajasthan and 48 in Chandigarh.
The Minister said, phase-II of Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, FAME scheme,
which provides subsidies is being implemented from 1st April, 2019 for a period of three years with a total budgetary allocation of 10 thousand crore rupees.
He also informed that over 36.71 crore LED bulbs have been distributed to consumers at an affordable price, which resulted in estimated savings of 47.68 billion kilowatt hour per year and reduced the carbon emission of 38.62 million tonnes per year.
