The Secretary in the Ministry of Culture Govind Mohan informed on 9th July 2023, Sunday that the third G20 Culture Working Group meeting in Hampi set to begin on Monday in Karnataka will make an effort to arrive at a language of consensus on promoting creative industry and creative economy.

Addressing media persons near Hampi today, Govind Mohan said that the meet to be held till July 12th will bridge different opinions and evolve consensus on four themes proposed under India Presidency. Under the first theme of restitution of cultural property, the Secretary informed that under the

UNESCO convention agreement, the countries must return the artefacts to the countries of their origin.

Recently during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the USA, a Cultural Property agreement was signed and the US is returning 150 artifacts smuggled out of India. The second theme is harnessing the living heritage that aims at protecting traditional practices like Ayurveda. The third theme is to promote creative economy and industries and the fourth one is promoting digital technology in preserving art forms with cultural value.
