In Jammu and Kashmir, four terrorists were shot dead in an encounter with security forces near Ban Toll Plaza, Nagrota, on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway this morning.
The encounter started at about 5 AM today when a truck carrying a group of terrorists was stopped for checking near Toll Plaza. The terrorists started firing on security forces. In the ensuing encounter four terrorists were gunned down.
Two SOG men of J&K police have been injured in the gunfight. Both the injured Jawans have been admitted to GMC Jammu and their condition is said to be
stable.
According to Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, the slain terrorists were affiliated to Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist Group and had recently infiltrated from across the border through Samba sector.
Border Security Force DG Rakesh Asthana today said, the force is committed to national security and countering infiltration. He said, martyrdom of soldiers and officers hasn't deterred the spirit of the force. On ceasefire violations and infiltration, Mr Asthana said, historically, infiltration increases before snowfall.
