In Gujarat, 491 nomination forms for the 26 Loksabha seats and 39 forms for the five Assembly seats where by-polls are scheduled were received. Yesterday was the last date for filing nominations for the third phase of the parliamentary elections. The scrutiny of the nomination forms will be held today, and the nominations can be withdrawn until the 22nd of this month. The state will go to the polls on May

Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah filed the nomination for the Gandhinagar Loksabha seat yesterday. BJP State President CR Patil also filed his nomination for the Navsari seat yesterday. On the other hand, Senior Congress Leader Paresh Dhanani also submitted his nomination from the Rajkot Loksabha seat.
