5 killed in accident at Zojila Pass in Ladakh

In Ladakh, 5 people were killed in a tragic accident at Zojila Pass after the vehicle they were travelling in rolled down a deep gorge yesterday.

The vehicle was on way to Sonmarg from Kargil when it skidded off road and fell into gorge. The army, police and locals have reached the spot for the rescue operation. All the bodies have been



recovered.

This is the second road accident in last 15 days to slippery road conditions. 

CEC LAHDC Kargil Dr Jaffar Akhone has paid his condolences to the families of those, killed. He wrote on his X Account that he is in close contact with DC Kargil, DC Ganderbal, SSP Kargil and SSP Ganderbal for retrieval and handover of the bodies.
