In Punjab, five persons including two women were killed and 10 others were injured including four children after an SUV collided with a three-wheeler and car at Umranangal chowk in Beas on Jalandhar- Amritsar road.
Around 16 persons, all from Hoshiarpur district, were travelling to Amritsar in a three-wheeler and a car to pay obeisance at Golden Temple. The pilgrims had stopped for
refreshment at a dhaba on the national highway (NH) 1, when a speeding SUV hit them.
The impact of the collision was so powerful that five grind died on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Kamaljit Kaur, Sewa Singh, residents of village Nasrala, Sarabjit Kaur, resident of Hoshiarpur and Avtar Singh, resident of village Nangal Saroa of Hoshiarpur district.
