5 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported from Kerala

Five fresh confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus were reported from Kerala yesterday taking the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 39. Briefing media in New Delhi, Special Secretary, Ministry of Health Sanjeeva Kumar said the family has travel history to Italy and they returned to Kochi via Doha. 

The government is keeping a close watch on the situation and a number of measures have been taken to contain the spread of COVID

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on Saturday taken a review meeting and Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan is constantly reviewing the situation on a day to day basis. Mr Kumar said that the Cabinet Secretary took a review meeting on Sunday and this was the sixteenth such meeting to review the situation. He said the preparations to bring Indian citizens from Iran were elaborately discussed in the meeting.
