Amid the rising number of novel coronavirus cases, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced on Sunday that 50,000 coronavirus tests will be conducted in 30 assembly segments of Hyderabad in the next seven to ten days as a precautionary measure.
The 30 assembly constituencies, from where 50,000 people will undergo Covid-19 test, are -- Uppal, LB Nagar, Maheshwaram, Ibrahimpatnam, Rajendranagar, Seri Lingampalli, Chevella, Pargi, Vikarabad, Tandoor, Medchal, Malkajgiri, Quthbullapur,
Kukatpally, Malakpet, Amberpet, Musheerabad, Khairatabad, Jubilee Hills, Sanath Nagar, Nampally, Karwan, Goshamahal, Charminar, Chandrayangutta, Yakutpura, Bahadurpura, Secunderabad, Secunderabad Cantonment, Patancheru.
Chandrashekar Rao took the decision during a high-level meeting at Pragathi Bhawan on Sunday.
In the meeting, Chandrashekar Rao said that the decision was taken to contain the novel coronavirus spread with strict measures in Hyderabad and its surrounding areas.
