In the Kashmir Valley, the annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnathji in the south Kashmir Himalayas is going on smoothly with more and more pilgrims entering the Union Territory daily to undertake the sacred Yatra and pay obeisance to lord Shiva.
As per the reports last came in, around 50,000 devotees drawn from various parts of the country, have visited and performed the darshan at the holy cave shrine till last evening. Earlier, the fifth batch of 6,597 pilgrims had left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in
Jammu yesterday for the twin Yatra routes of Nunwan-Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district in a cavalcade of 253 light and heavy vehicles amid tight security cover.
Foolproof security arrangements are already in place for a smooth and safe journey of the Yatris. Pilgrims are expressing satisfaction and are seen as happy with the efforts put forth by the authorities towards the cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of the Yatra tracks.
