In a daring daylight heist, 57 lakh rupees were looted from a cash van in Rajasthan's Bhilwara on Monday.
Logicash Solution Private Limited is the authorized agency to deposit cash at the Punjab National Bank (PNB) ATMs in the area. On Monday afternoon, two employees left with 57 lakh rupees, meant to be deposited, from the main branch of PNB, located at Sabzi Mandi area in Bhilwara.
However, 100 metres away from the branch, their van's tyre got punctured. As one of the employee got down to fetch a spare tyre from the rear, two motorcycle-borne men arrived suddenly, caught hold of the bag
carrying 57 lakh rupees kept at the backseat, and fled from the apot.
The men who carried the heist are said to be in their 20s, were on a red-coloured Discover motorcycle, and one of them was wearing a white-coloured shirt. The police has barricaded several entry and exit points in the district and has been scanning through the CCTV footage of the area from the bank leading to the point of loot.
"The car which was carrying the cash to be deposited in the ATM was neither fenced, nor was there any guard present in it", said Gopal Swarup Mewada, Additional Superintendent of Police.
