In Odisha, 58 pharmaceutical companies have been blacklisted for supplying sub-standard medicines since 2005. In response to a question of BJP legislator Dilip Ray in the State



Assembly, Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak yesterday said 133 types of medicines supplied to the government hospitals by 168 companies were found sub standard during the period. Sources said sample tests are conducted by an accredited laboratory before bulk purchase of medicines are made by government-run hospitals.
