High intensity explosions, reportedly over 30 in number, occurred at an ordnance factory in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur on Saturday evening.
Though initial reports said at least 20 were injured in the mishap, Jabalpur collector Mahesh Chandra Chaudhary said no one was injured since the factory was locked up.
Nearly 50 fire tenders were rushed to the Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK) as a fire had also broken out.
Locals sources claimed some workers may be trapped under the debris, but there was no confirmation of the same.
Army personnel arrived at the spot and began carrying out search operation while access to the factory has been restricted.
Khamaria police said the explosions occurred in the filling station of the ordnance factory, which is located nearly 320 kms east of Bhopal and spread across 50 acres.
