61.38% voter turnout recorded in 1st phase of J&K assembly election

The Election Commission has said that 61.38 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the first phase of the assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir held on Sept 18. 

The commission said that total voter



turnout comprises 63.75 per cent male, 58.96 per cent female, and 40 per cent third-gender voters. This is the highest voter turnout in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 35 years.
