In Leh, the Sixth Ladakh Autononous Hill Development Council will take oath on 31st of October. The term of Fifth LAHDC, Leh General Council term gets over by 30th of this month. Incidentally, on 31st of this month, Ladakh is also celebrating the First Anniversary of Union Territory status.
Leh District Sessions Judge will administer the oath to the newly elected councillors at a special function on Saturday afternoon at Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra. Later,
on the same day, the newly elected Councillors will meet at LAHDC, Leh secretariat to elect the Chairman/ Chief Executive Councillor and Deputy Chairman for the Council.
In recently concluded polls, Leh voters have elected 15 councillors from BJP, Nine from Congress and two independents for Sixth LAHDC, Leh General Council. BJP has gained majority to lead the Hill Council consecutively second time.
