7 killed in Dehradun last night due to heavy rain

In Uttarakhand, seven people were killed in Dehradun last night due to heavy rain. Four people lost their lives after a house collapse in Simadwar, while three died due to drowning in a river. Major rivers and rivulets have swollen following rain. As many as 41 interior roads connecting villages have been blocked due to



landslides.

The MeT department has predicted heavy to very heavy rain in some parts of the state in the next 24 hours. Schools in some districts have been closed yesterday. All district magistrates have been asked to remain vigilant and keep disaster response mechanism ready to deal with emergency situations.
