The State government has made arrangements to provide employment to about 750 youth in Gulf countries this year, informed Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy. For this purpose the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company Limited (Tomcom), launched recently by the government, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with several companies in the Gulf nations.
Narasimha Reddy, the chairman of Tomcom, said it was planned to provide jobs to nearly 5,000 youth in Gulf and other countries. Youths from Telangana have been duped by middlemen in their efforts to get overseas jobs. In order to check the cheating by travel agents, the government has established the Tomcom and it would help the youth to find suitable jobs
in a legal manner.
Therefore, the youth intending to get jobs in Gulf nations should register their names online with Tomcom to go abroad in a secure way, he suggested. Home Minister Narasimha Reddy was here on Friday to inaugurate a new building at Kazipet ITI and to lay a foundation stone for additional classrooms.
Addressing a public gathering on the occasion, he said the required infrastructure would be provided at all the ITIs in the State with Rs 100 crores. Responding to a request by Warangal (West) MLA D Vinay Bhaskar, who sought an additional Rs 1.30 crores towards an improvement of infrastructure facilities at the ITI, the Minister said the funds would be released soon.
