This is the second building collapse in a week’s time. On July 31, nine people died and 24 others were injured in another building collapse in Bhiwandi. Mumbai.
The two-storeyed building, Mahadev Niwas is located at Khadan Road in Hanuman Tekadi locality. The building was among those marked as dangerous by the corporation and is said to be around 35 to 40 years old. Owner of the building, Sajjanlal Mahadev Gupta (60) and his wife Satyawati Sajjan Gupta (55), died at a hospital. Majority of the victims are from two families.
At least four people were rescued. However, reports suggest that three to four more people may have been trapped.
