Travelling from Delhi to Meerut in less than an hour is now a reality. The 82-km Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME) is now open to the public.
With the long-awaited expressway now open for traffic, the travel time between Delhi and Meerut has come down to about 45 minutes from two
hours.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari said, “Delhi Meerut Expressway has now been completed & opened to traffic. We have fulfilled our promise of reducing travel time between Delhi - Meerut from 2.5 hours to 45 minutes.”
