Mumbai: Eighty-three candidates are in the fray for the biennial Legislative Council election in Maharashtra. According to the note of the Chief Election Commission Office, 27 candidates have withdrawn their applications.
Voting for these seats will be held on the 30th of January, and votes will be
counted on the 2nd of February. There will be eight candidates in the Konkan Teachers constituency, 22 in the Nagpur Teacher constituency, 14 in Aurangabad Teacher Constituency, 16 in Nashik Graduates constituency and 23 in the Amravati Graduates constituency contest the election.
