AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal yesterday submitted his reply to the Election Commission over his remarks about the water quality in the Yamuna River. The Commission had issued a notice to Mr Kejriwal, seeking an explanation for his statements.
In his response, Mr Kejriwal clarified that his earlier statements, which referenced the Yamuna being poisoned were made in the context of the rising ammonia levels in the water and were not intended to
suggest any malicious intent outside of this environmental crisis.
The Election Commission said, it gave a patient hearing to AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal at a very short notice today and received his reply. It said, the full Commission without getting swayed by personal insinuations and offensive strategy being in play, decided to examine the reply in detail and take decisions on merit.
