The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved multiple high-level appointments across several ministries and departments yesterday.

Senior IAS officer Vivek Joshi, who is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Financial Services in Ministry of Finance, has been appointed as  Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training. Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Coal, Nagaraju Maddirala will now be the Secretary, Department of Financial Services.

Senior IAS officer Manoj Govil, who is currently Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Expenditure. Chief Executive Officer of National Health Authority, Deepti Gaur Mukherjee will now be Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

DPIIT Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty in Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence and he will take over as Secretary, Department of Defence after the completion of  tenure of  Aramane Giridhar on 31st of October this year.

The ACC has also approved extension in service of Rajesh Kumar Singh as Secretary, Department of Defence beyond the age of superannuation, for a period up to 31st of October,



2026.

Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce Amardeep Singh Bhatia has been appointed as Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. Special Secretary in Prime Minister’s Office Punya Salila Srivastava has now been appointed as Officer on Special Duty, Department of Health and Family Welfare.

She will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare upon the superannuation of Apurva Chandra on 30th of next month.

Katikithala Srinivas who is working as  secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs will now be Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. He will be replaced by senior IAS officer Chandra Sekhar Kumar who is Special Secretary in Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Senior IAS officer Vandana Gurnani has been appointed as Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat.

Deepti Umashankar, currently Establishment Officer and Additional Secretary in DoPT, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty to the President of India.

She will take over as Secretary to the President upon superannuation of Rajesh Verma on 31st of this month. The ACC has also approved the appointments in other Ministries at Secretary level.
