Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay has filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the constitutionality of the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025, LiveLaw reported on Sunday.

Vijay has joined the list of many influential names who have moved the top court against the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025. Others who have challenged the Act include AIMIM



MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Congress MPs Mohammad Jawed and Imran Pratapgarhi, AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, Azad Samaj Party chief Chandra Shekhar Azad and Samajwadi Party MP Zia Ur Rehman Barq.

The Waqf (Amendment) Bill cleared both Houses of Parliament last week following a 12-hour marathon debate. After President Droupadi Murmu gave her assent on April 5, it became law.
