Assam, the Additional NRC Draft Exclusion list published yesterday consisting of 1,02,462 persons. 

Official sources said that the persons whose names appear in the Additional Draft Exclusion List are those persons whose names are included in the Draft NRC published on July last year, but have been subsequently found ineligible due to various reasons. 

Those persons who have been excluded will be informed individually through letters. Such persons will get the opportunity to file their claims which will be disposed of through a hearing by a Disposing Officer.

All the claims will be disposed of before the publication of the Final NRC on 31st of July. 

Over 1 lakh person who has been



excluded will be informed individually through Letters of Information to be delivered at their residence along with the reason of exclusion. Such persons will get the opportunity to file their claims which will be disposed of through a hearing by a Disposing Officer.  The hearings will start on 5th of July.

All the claims will be disposed of before the publication of the Final NRC on 31st of July. The entire NRC process is being carried out in Assam under the monitoring of the Supreme Court. The NRC authority announced, all genuine Indian citizens as per cut of date of Midnight of 24th March 1971 will be included in the Final NRC.  On 30th July last year, name of 40 lakh people did not appear in the NRC draft list.
