Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced that the age limit for Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana has been extended to 65 years. While replying to the Motion of Thanks for the Governor’s Address, Mr. Shinde informed the state assembly that the government has also decided to do away with the condition regarding women whose families own government land has also been removed.

Stating that the eligible beneficiaries will start receiving a monthly financial aid of 1500 rupees from July itself, the Chief Minister urged women not to fall prey and pay bribes to any person for registration under this scheme. Ensuring transparency, Mr. Shinde  said officials demanding bribes would be



suspended.

Mr. Shinde said the Mahayuti government has successfully completed two years as it considers entire Maharashtra as its family and has ensured that benefits of various schemes reach eligible citizens without much hassle. He said the government has taken over several citizen friendly decisions in the past two years and worked for the benefit of all sections of the society.

Talking about welfare schemes announced in the recent state budget, Mr. Shinde said adequate funds have been earmarked for the same, adding that over one lakh crore rupees will be distributed among eligible beneficiaries in the coming months.
