In Puducherry, the agitation for lifting the ban on Jallikattu was called off last night. Thousands of students and youngsters were participating in the protest that lasted seven days. Though the agitation was peaceful, tension was mounting as there was no sign of students
leaving the Anglo-French Textiles Maidan in the heart of the city.
The talks initiated by Puducherry Police yielded result and students finally called of their protest. Chief Minister Narayanasamy thanked the protesters for ending the agitation.
