Agricultural universities have been asked to change curriculum of the graduation courses from this academic year to make more job-oriented. Agriculture Ministry has said, Centre has approved the recommendations of 5th Dean’s Committee for the upliftment of agriculture education throughout the country.
The committee had recommended a few new subjects like bio-technology, community science, food nutrition and diets as well as sericulture. It said, Indian Agriculture Research Council has already issued
instructions to the agricultural universities to implement the report.
The Ministry had constituted the 5th Dean’s Committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. Ram Badan Singh for contemporary rescheduling of quality curriculums in the field of agriculture graduation education. Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh said, through this new curriculum all agriculture based graduation courses will be altered into the professional ones which will be conducive to earn their livelihood in future.
