In Chennai, the ministers belonging to the AIADMK Amma party had a meeting and discussed about unification of the two factions of the parent party, the AIADMK.
The surprise meet was held in the residence of the state electricity minister P.Thangamani late in the night. They later told the media, they discussed about functioning unitedly with the O.Panneerselvam faction.They also said, endorsement of the parent party's district secretaries to get back the impounded "Double Leaves" symbol of the AIADMK for submission to the Eection Commission was also
discussed.
Earlier, leader of the rival camp Mr O.Panneerselvam said in Chennai Airport yesterday, no talks have been held with the ruling faction of the AIADMK so far, though he said he would welcome any such unification move. He also expressed his firm belief that such unification talks would happen very soon.
The Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha and a key leader of the ruling AIADMK Amma faction Dr M.Thambidurai met the chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy twice yesterday at the Secretariat in Fort St.George in the state capital.
