Referring to the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)'s decision to snap ties with the BJP and quit the National Democratic Alliance in Tamil Nadu, AIADMK Spokesperson Sasirekha said it was "the happiest moment" for her party. She said the decision was made based on the opinion of party

members.

"Based on the members' opinion, we are taking this resolution. This is the happiest moment for AIADMK. We are very happy to face the upcoming elections, whether it might be Parliament or Assembly elections," Sasirekha said.

AIADMK workers were seen celebrating the party's decision by bursting firecrackers in Chennai.
