The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has challenged the Archaeological Survey of India’s (ASI) report on the Gyanvapi mosque, which claimed evidence of a pre-existing Hindu temple on the mosque premises in Varanasi.

Qasim Rasool Ilyas, an executive

member of AIMPLB, stated that the ASI report is not “conclusive evidence” in the Gyanvapi mosque case. The AIMPLB accused the opposition party of disrespecting the court by releasing the ASI report in the media, creating a sense of ‘anarchy’ and ‘insecurity’ among the public.
