Air India announced on July 26 that the fifth phase of the Vande Bharat Mission, which is slated to begin from August 1, 2020, will see Indian carriers open up to many more international destinations.
Notably, the Vande Bharat Mission phase five will commence on a day the country will also enter unlock phase three.
While Air India is yet to announce the booking details for this phase, we know that India will have flights connecting to Canada, USA, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Australia, Germany,
Thailand, Singapore, UK, Germany, New Zealand, and the Philippines, among other countries.
In this phase of the Vande Bharat Mission to bring back Indians stranded abroad and facilitate the return of foreigners stranded in India due to the pandemic outbreak, private airlines will be allowed to operate like in the past phase.
Notably, Air India has already brought back more than 2.5 lakh Indians from as many as 53 countries since the coronavirus pandemic outbreak made most nations across the world go under a complete lockdown.
