Air quality remains in very poor category in Delhi today

The air quality in the national capital is presently in the very poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the overall Air Quality Index was recorded at 381 this morning.

The city government's transport department has banned the entry of heavy and medium goods vehicles in the city till today. Vehicles carrying vegetables, fruits, grains, milk, eggs, ice and other



essentials, and tankers carrying petroleum products have been exempted from the ban.

There is also ban on construction activities, industries using coal and biomass. An aggressive clean air campaign is also underway by the Ministry of Environment to monitor and report polluting activities as well as to ensure quick action.
