Airports across the country have been alerted to prevent rape accused Uttar Pradesh Minister Gayatri Prajapati from fleeing the country. Official sources said, Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB), guarding Uttar Pradesh's border with Nepal, has also been alerted about the possibility of Prajapati leaving the country.
Uttar Pradesh Police has registered an FIR against the ruling Samajwadi Party politician for allegedly gang-raping a woman and molesting her daughter with his aides. The FIR was filed recently following a
directive of the Supreme Court after the alleged victim woman approached it.
BJP has accused Akhilesh Yadav of hiding rape accused Prajapati at his residence and said the chief minister had become a patron of criminals in the state. BJP President Amit Shah said it is the responsibility of State Police to arrest a rape accused. He said, Prajapati case is a burning example of lawlessness in the state.
Mr Yadav promised full cooperation with regard to the case as per the directions of the Supreme Court.
