Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said, all efforts should be made in the Indian democracy for the voice of the weakest to be heard. He said, if the country has to further enrich its democratic values the voice of the common people should be echoed in the Parliament as well as in the state assemblies. Mr Birla, urged all representatives of the people in the upper and lower house of the Parliament and state assemblies to work toward this goal.
Mr Birla, who arrived in Odisha on a day long visit, addressed a meeting organised by Rama Foundation at
Bhubaneswar on Sunday afternoon. He said, other nations are looking towards India for peace and harmony because of the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, the country is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and innovations in any sector including defence is being done by India. He said the youth of the country has a role in it and all should contribute to make the country a ‘Viksit Bharat’. Later, he attended the inaugural ceremony of KIIT School of Public Policy in Bhubaneswar.
