Polling for the second and final phase of Assembly elections in Gujarat will be held tomorrow. Of the total 182 seats, 93 spread over North and Central Gujarat will go to polls in this phase. Voting will begin at 8 in the morning and continue till 5 in the evening.
A total of 2 crore 22 lakh people are eligible to vote, out of which 1 crore seven lakh are women. The fate of 851 candidates will be decided in this phase.
Campaigning for the second phase ended last evening, with top leaders of various political parties
leaving no stone unturned to win the voters.All arrangements are being made for smooth conduct of the polls.
The Election commission has assured that all protocols are being adhered to, so that there isn't any possibility of electoral malpractice.
Voting will be held in over 25 thousand polling stations. Over 40,000 Ballot Units and more than 35000 VVPAT machines have been deployed. The first phase was held on 9th December and covered 89 seats. The results will be declared on December 18th.
