Union Minister for Environment and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar has slammed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for politicizing the issue of air pollution and indulging in a blame game in the wake of deteriorating air quality in Delhi-NCR.

Speaking at an event in New Delhi on Friday, Javadekar criticized the Aam Aadmi Party Government in Delhi for not releasing funds for the construction of the Eastern Peripheral Expressway aimed to de-congest traffic in the national capital.

Mr. Javadekar said, during the last 15 years only discussions were done on the

issue of air pollution, but National Democratic Alliance Government at Centre has taken concrete steps to address the menace.

He said, construction of Eastern Peripheral Expressway has not only de-congested capital, but also brought down the pollution level. He said, all the stakeholders must sit together to find the solutions instead of blaming each other.

Recently, Delhi Chief Minister has made a statement that Delhi is choking due to stubble burning in the neighbouring states of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
