Dehradun: Uttarakhand Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj has said that all tourist places in the state are safe except Joshimath.
Talking to the media in Dehradun, he said the government is making all possible efforts to deal with the situation in Joshimath. He said the upcoming Char Dham Yatra will be smooth.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister's Special Representative Ajendra Ajay held a review meeting of relief works with the officials in Joshimath. He directed all the nodal officers to provide all possible help to the affected people in the camps.
Mr. Ajay said that Char Dham Yatra and winter tourism are the backbone of the state. He said the Central and State Governments are providing all possible help to the
disaster-affected people in Joshimath.
State Disaster Management Secretary Ranjit Kumar Sinha has said that the work of land leveling and layout planning has been started for the construction of pre-fabricated buildings in Dhak village of Joshimath.
In the regular press briefing in Dehradun, Mr. Sinha said that the entire process is being carried out as per the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said that if required, the affected can be kept in the MLA Hostel in Bharadi Sain.
The Secretary said that there has been no increase in the number of buildings with cracks in Joshimath. Till now cracks have been found in 863 buildings. 933 members of 218 families have been displaced.
