Allahabad High Court
has stayed the cancellation of appointments of 15 thousand assistant teachers
of primary schools in Uttar Pradesh. Justice PKS Baghel passed the order
Wednesday and asked Basic Education Department and Uttar Pradesh government to
file their replies. The court order came on a writ petition filed by five
petitioners.
They claimed that
they were appointed against an advertisement for 15
thousand assistant teachers
published in December 2004. Appointment letters were issued to some successful
candidates and many of them had joined their services also.
In November 2015, Basic Education Department postponed their appointment and in December 2015, all 15 thousand appointments were cancelled. Basic Education Department told the court that after necessary rectification the result would be declared a fresh.
