The Central government-appointed Kamalanathan Committee has set a deadline of August 31 for wrapping up allocation of employees between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Sources said that this information has been conveyed during a meeting with the Chief Secretaries of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, S P Tucker and Dr Rajeev Sharma, here on Friday.
The meeting took stock of the allocation exercise of about 57,000 employees from 153 departments of the two Telugu-speaking States. Allocation of employees in offices of the Director General of Police, Medical Education, AYUSH, Special Protection Force, Engineering in Chief, Public Health was yet to be finalised.
Allocation of employees in these departments was pending due to the objections raised in regard to the options,” the sources said. The committee reportedly studied the objections and it would arrive at a decision on the division of the

employees of the remaining departments.
Accordingly, the committee would complete the allocation of about 2,900 employees in medical education, 4,743 in SPF, around 6,000 employees belonging to health department. The Centre has approved the report of allocation of employees by the Kamalanathan Committee. A final report would be sent to the Centre for its approval before the end of August.
Both Tucker and Rajeev Sharma have reportedly inquired about the issues discussed in the sub-committee and reportedly approved the suggestions made by the committee. Though the committee had met several times on the allocation of employees, it has specifically held discussions for the last two days on the various issues. The Friday meeting with the Chief Secretaries of both States was called to take stock of the allocation carried out so far and the future course of action,” the sources added.
