Alok Kumar Verma to be next Delh Police Chief

Senior IPS officer Alok Verma will be the next Delhi Police Commissioner. Home Ministry officials have confirmed this decision. Mr. Verma will succeed incumbent Delhi Police Chief B S Bassi who will retire on 29th



of this month.

A 1979-batch Union Territory cadre officer, Mr. Verma is currently serving as Director General of Tihar prison. He will serve as the top police officer of Delhi for 17 months.
