In Jammu & Kashmir, the Amarnath Yatra is in progress from both Baltal route in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district and Pahalgam route in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The 40 day annual Yatra commenced on June 29. An official in Amarnath Shrine Board told that more than 62 thousand yatris had darshan of ice lingam
till yesterday evening.On the 6th day a fresh batch of over 1700 (1786) pilgrims including 300 women left Jammu based Bhagwati Nagar base camp early morning today. They reach late evening in their respective base camps in Kashmir. An official in Shrine Board said the weather is clear in base camp areas and the Yatra is going on smoothly.
