Amid heavy snowfall National Highway 301 Kargil-Zanskar road is blocked

Leh: In Ladakh, heavy snowfall has been observed all over the Kargil district and to date, 4-inch to 10-inch snowfall has been recorded at different places. As per the advisory of the Meteorological Department, there will be snowfall at scattered places tomorrow also. It has also advised people living or commuting in Snowbound areas, especially the Kargil district, not to venture out into Avalanche-prone areas unless



emergency.

Meanwhile, the National Highway 301 Kargil-Zanskar road is blocked due to heavy snow accumulation. The District Police of Kargil has advised the General public to avoid unnecessary vehicular movement unless the road is cleared by the concerned agency. 

The Municipal Committee of Kargil has engaged men and machinery on all roads of Kargil town to clear the snow for smooth traffic movement.
