The District Administration, Anantnag in South Kashmir is making all necessary arrangements to facilitate Amarnath yatris and make the annual pilgrimage successful. The yatra commences on the 30th of June and concludes on the 11th of August.
District Magistrate, Dr Piyush Singla said health facilities are being augmented for the yatris.
He informed that oxygen points have been identified along the traditional 36-kilometer Pahalgam route so that pilgrims experiencing oxygen
deficiency or breathlessness on their way to the Holy Amarnath Cave, which is situated at an altitude of 3,888 metres, are tended to.
Similarly, Mountain Rescue Teams(MRTs) are being deployed to ensure the safety and convenience of the devotees.
Dr Singla said the administration has resolved to make the yatra Open Defecation Free. He said toilets and dustbins are being installed extensively to ensure a clean Amarnath Yatra this year.
