Andaman & Nicobar Command to host Naval Event 'Milan' from today

Andaman Nicobar command organises get-together of foreign navies, Milan at Port Blair from Tuesday.

The Andaman Nicobar command is organising biennial get-together of foreign navies, called Milan at Port Blair from today.The command has been organising the get-together since 1995. 

The theme of the Milan is friendship across the seas.Altogether 16 countries are participating in the biennial exercise which will conclude on thirteen march. 

During multilateral Exercise at sea with An aim to enhance regional cooperation for combating Unlawful Activities at sea will



be organised. 

An international maritime seminar cultural and social exchanges, band concert, ship visit, sports and city parade are the highlights of Milan 2018. 

For the first time, Oman is also participating in this exercise Defence minister Nirmala Sitaraman and chief of naval staff Admiral Sunil Lamba will be visiting Port Blair for this international event. 

This prestigious international event will also sea participation of 38 delegates from the sixteen participating countries, making it the largest gathering since its inception in 1995.
