Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted an aerial Survey of the flood hit areas in Krishna and Guntur Districts yesterday. He covered Avanigadda, Nandigana, Mylavaram, Penamakuru and Thadikonda constituencies and witnessed the crop damage. After the aerial survey, he directed the officials to complete the crop damage estimates at the earliest.
The Chief Minister also instructed the concerned officials to provide input subsidy to farmers. He said
essential commodities and free ration will be provided to each family in the flood affected areas.
Agriculture Department has also started assessing the crop damage due to continuous rains and floods. State agriculture minister K. Kannababu said that the crops in more than 1.7 Lakh hectares in 9 districts have been damaged during the past three months. He said, the crop damage is especially high in East and West Godavari districts.
