Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has taken another crucial decision, withdrawing its earlier resolution to dissolve the AP Legislative Council and moving a new one to continue it.

Announcing this on the fourth day of the AP Legislative Assembly session here on Tuesday, Minister for Finance and Legislative Affairs Buggana Rajendranath, who introduced a resolution this effect, said that the house adopted a resolution on January 27, 2020 to dissolve the Legislative Council in accordance

with the then prevailing
situation. The matter was conveyed to the Centre and the Home Ministry. However, there was no response till date, he stated.

This had resulted in a stalemate and recently a new Chairman for AP Legislative Council was elected and new members sworn in. They were all willing to work with enthusiasm and give their valuable suggestions and advice on the decisions taken in the Assembly which was why the government had decided to continue the Council, he explained.
