Spells of heavy rain are expected along with strong winds at isolated places over northern coastal Andhra Pradesh in the next 24 hours according to the predictions of the meteorological department. However, there is no warning of a cyclone.
A depression has been formed over west central Bay of Bengal off the AP coast, located 210 km from Machhlipatnam, 240 km from Vizag and 460 km from Gopalpur in Odisha.

Centre (CWC), Visakhapatnam said, “There is no cause of panic for the public as the depression is likely to weaken gradually within 24-48 hours and moving away from Vizag towards the north-east. However, under the influence of the depression, heavy rainfall would take place at many places and the sea condition will be rough to very rough in north coastal AP. Fishermen are cautioned not to venture into the sea. The wind speed will be 40-50 kmph gusting to 50-60 kmph over coastal AP.”
