The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly is gearing up for a unique three-day sports and cultural extravaganza exclusively for its Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs). Scheduled from March 18 to 20, the event was officially announced by Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu, who emphasised that the initiative aims to provide relaxation and camaraderie among legislators amid intense assembly sessions.
From kabaddi and badminton to singing and dancing, the MLAs will get a chance to showcase their
talents beyond politics. A 100-meter sprint is also part of the lineup, adding to the competitive spirit.
The winners across categories will be felicitated by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on the final day of the event. MLAs keen on participating must register their names with the Chief Whip and Whips in advance.
This initiative comes at a time when the Karnataka assembly too is experimenting with ways to engage legislators beyond the usual political debates.
